A letter from the Scottish Chief Medical Officer to the NHS boards has emphasised the critical importance of research in the response to COVID-19 and have asked that resources are made available to support prioritised COVID-19 research. To support this aim the CSO, NHS Research Scotland and Health Board R&D Offices will work closely and in collaboration with equivalents in the other UK nations to identify studies which should be given highest priority.
