We are excited to announce two job opportunities—Grade 8 Senior Researcher
and Grade 7 Health Data Scientist—within the HDR UK-funded Inflammation and Immunity Research Driver Programme, led by Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh and Professor Jennifer Quint.

Both located at the University of Oxford’s Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, these roles offer the chance to contribute to groundbreaking research using large-scale health data to address key questions in inflammation-mediated diseases. 

Successful candidates will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team working at the intersection of health data science and policy-relevant research, with a strong focus on improving patient outcomes and informing healthcare decision-making across the UK.

Grade 8 Senior Researcher

Applications are invited for a Senior Researcher to work with a team working with Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh on a research programme that involves research into developing risk prediction algorithms across a UK-wide (four nation) portfolio of inflammation and immunity research studies to answer questions about healthcare utilisation and outcomes for common allergic and respiratory conditions in near real time.

Location: Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford.

The position is full time and fixed term until 31 July 2027.

Grade 7 Health Data Scientist

Applications are invited for a Health Data Scientist to work with a team working with Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh on a research programme that involves research using large cohort electronic health data with a focus on evaluating the impact of health policy interventions (e.g. introduction of RSV programme, clean air zones, abolition of winter fuel subsidies to pensioners) across the UK, using natural experiment designs.

Location: Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford.

The position is full time and fixed term until 31 July 2027.
