Qualitative Researchers' Group Seminar: The challenges of adopting innovative qualitative research methods Title: The challenges of adopting innovative qualitative research methods Description: This session will focus on the challenges faced by researchers when they use innovative methods in research projects. Richard will discuss the various pragmatic, ethical and other challenges of using photography, video recording and analysing content from social media sites using examples from his previous and current research projects. Speaker: Dr Richard I Purves, Institute for Social Marketing and Health, University of Stirling Biography: Richard has a special interest in applying innovative research methods in qualitative research. He has worked extensively in the area of alcohol marketing and policy and the impact of commerical marketing on addictive behaviours (gambling, tobacco, online gaming). Richard also represents the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport on Stirling's General University Ethics Panel.
