PGR VOICES: A memorable experience with the Scottish Ambulance Service

Areej Almutairi reflects on a meaningful PhD milestone through a nostalgic and insightful experience with the Scottish Ambulance Service.

One of the most unforgettable experiences during the first year of my PhD was working alongside the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS).

As a paramedic by training (during my undergraduate studies in Saudi Arabia), it was truly special to return to my favourite setting, and this time, to my second home, Scotland. The experience was both nostalgic and eye-opening, offering a new perspective on protocols and patient care. It was a valuable opportunity to expand my understanding of emergency medical services in a different healthcare system, and I would gladly do it again.

You shall see me again, celebrating yet another milestone with SAS.
