For those working in a UK setting, a risk of 5% in this calculator broadly corresponds to the "high-risk" category assigned on the basis of the risk assessment tools endorsed in the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance on the risk assessment and identification of patients with type 2 diabetes.
