RESPIRE

Global Respiratory Research

The NIHR Global Health Research Unit on Respiratory Health (RESPIRE) at The University of Edinburgh conducts research on respiratory health in Asia. It was first funded as part of the NIHR Global Health Research Programme in 2016/17.  It was one of the first 13 Units funded across the UK, and one of two at the University of Edinburgh. Our programme led Platform I which focused on how we work with partners to promote shared understanding and develop effective, reciprocal and ethical working relationships, and to maximise the local, regional and global impact from the new knowledge and experience generated by RESPIRE.

RESPIRE was re-funded by the NIHR for a second phase, starting in 2022.
