Smoke-free Policies, Shisha and Tobacco Packaging

Furthering understanding of smoke-free policies and iniatives

Five research projects are being implemented to further understanding of the:

1) awareness and compliance with existing smokefree legislation in Ghana and 2) also in The Gambia and Pakistan;

3) perceptions of existing and new innovative health warnings on cigarette packs (India);

4) to explore shisha use in adolescents (Ethiopia).

In The Gambia, the results from the TCCP survey have contributed to the government’s commitment to the enforcement of the Tobacco Control Act (2016) and Regulation (2019).
