The overall aim of the proposed research is to understand the processes and impacts of the 2024 riots in England, using multiple methods, with a view to informing policy and practice, in order not only to develop understanding but also to reduce the likelihood of similar events. The research team have completed detailed case studies of the protest/riot events (and counter-mobilisations) in three locations where there was violent disorder.
