Building Capability in Behavioural Research Conference 2026: Keynote Speaker Announcement

We’re thrilled to announce Professor Ralph Hertwig as a keynote speaker at the Building Capability in Behavioural Research Conference 2026.

As Director of the Center for Adaptive Rationality at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Ralph is a leading voice in cognitive psychology and behavioral decision science. His pioneering work on bounded rationality, simple heuristics, learning from experience, and strengthening people’s decision-making competences has reshaped how we understand human behaviour in both digital and real-world environments.

A member of Germany’s most prestigious scientific academies, Ralph has also played a key role in advising on urgent societal challenges—from obesity and pandemic response to youth well-being online and the future of democracy and technology.

In his keynote, “Boost — empowering behavior change to address global challenges,” Ralph will explore how boosting people’s cognitive and motivational capacities can enable smarter decisions and more resilient societies.

Get ready for a session that will challenge assumptions, energise perspectives, and spark new ideas.
