Behavioural Research UK (BR-UK) is a new consortium funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) via the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). Understanding human behaviour and how it shapes organisations, communities and societies is needed to address global challenges such as the environmental, economic and health crises that we face now and in the future. Currently, behavioural research is not well coordinated in the UK. It also doesn't always ask the right research questions, involve people with the best skills, make good use of existing data, take advantage of innovative research methods or produce findings that can be used to make positive changes. The Behavioural Research UK Leadership Hub (BR-UK) will change this. BR-UK is a new consortium funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) for a period of 5 years from November 2023. It serves as a leadership hub that is part of a wider ESRC programme to build national capability and drive interdisciplinary innovation in behavioural research targeted towards addressing major societal challenges. Our Funder BR-UK is funded by ESRC - the UK’s largest funder of economic, social, behavioural and human data science. Our People BR-UK is composed of a broad multidisciplinary team from across a range of universities and partners.
