BR-UK Training: Writing Policy Briefs as Tools for Knowledge Mobilisation

The course focuses on policy briefs as a practical knowledge mobilisation tool, supporting you to translate behavioural research evidence into outputs that can inform policy thinking, decision-making, and action.

Through a mix of short presentations and applied activities, you will work through the core components of an effective policy brief, including framing a policy-relevant problem, synthesising evidence, and developing feasible policy options. The training emphasises clarity, structure, and awareness of particular audiences, helping you move from research findings to persuasive policy narratives. You will be guided to outline a policy brief grounded in your own research interests, with opportunities for reflection and peer learning throughout.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  1. Identify and apply the key structural and stylistic elements of an effective policy brief.
  2. Translate behavioural research findings into concise, actionable, and policy-relevant language.
  3. Develop an outline a policy brief that communicates a clear problem statement, synthesised evidence, and practical recommendations.

The second session will take place on 21st October 2026 at 1pm.

Please note that AI Notetakers are not permitted in this training session.

This training will be capped at 40 participants. By registering you commit to attend both training days.
