Meet the 2024 Academy Students

The fourth, and final, cohort contains 14 students from a variety of backgrounds, bringing our total to 42 students across the four cohorts.

This year's cohort contains students with backgrounds ranging from robotics to nutritional science; mathematics to digital biology; philosophy to international business.

The students will have a taught year followed by three years of PhD research.

The programme for the first year provides common foundations in care in later life and the associated societal challenges, and ensures all students are familiar with relevant topics beyond their disciplinary focus.

There is substantial external input into the taught year from senior figures in the NHS, Government, industry and third sector which exposes the cohort to a breadth of perspectives, agendas and motivations as they prepare for the complexity of the sector and their future research.
