Earlier this year, a delegation of researchers attended a meeting with our partners, MHSCP. Our team Prof Bruce Guthrie, Dr Atul Anand and Dr Stella Arakelyan attended a Midlothian Frailty Stakeholder Engagement event back in February. This was the first meeting since our new partnership with Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP). The event was one of a series of engagement events planned by the MHSCP to co-develop a new integrated facility service or care pathway for people with frailty. This is to ensure that people with frailty are provided with the right support at the right time in the right place, enabling them to lead longer and healthier lives. Attendees discussed why frailty matters and key components of integrated facility service - early identification and assessment, proactive planning and management, transitions in care, and engaging the public in healthy ageing - constructed from a range of conversations with key stakeholders and literature scoping. These service components and wider strategic goals pursued by Midlothian HSCP align closely with AIM-CISC and the wider ACRC research programme aims and objectives, providing opportunities for partnership and collaboration.
