Congratulations to Dr Wei Xu

Everyone at UNCOVER congratulates Dr Wei Xu, who has just earnt her PhD on the "Development and validation of a risk prediction model for colorectal cancer in patients with gastrointestinal symptoms."

In addition to her hard work in colorectal cancer research, Wei has actively supported the University’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, by volunteering with UNCOVER from the start and by making important contribution to numerous pieces of COVID-19 research.

As well as working on UNCOVER's reviews, Wei helped to set up the UNCOVER Register of Reviews and co-led the project for nearly two years. The quality of her work, and her great potential, was recognised as she became one of the first cohort of UNCOVER interns in 2021.

UNCOVER's Co-Lead, Professor Evropi Theodoratou, also co-supervised Dr Xu's PhD. She said:

"It has been a real pleasure and privilege working with Wei. Her co-supervisor Prof Malcolm Dunlop and I would like to wish her all the best for her future career! Many congratulations Wei!"
