UNCOVER Features as part of World Evidence-Based Healthcare Day

We are delighted that the UNCOVER 2021 Conference will feature as part of a worldwide programme of events for World Evidence-Based Healthcare Day, which is marked on 20 October every year.

The UNCOVER Conference takes place online, on the afternoons of 11-12 October, and provides an insight into the challenges and opportunities of doing effective, useful public health evidence synthesis during a global pandemic.

The aim of World Evidence-Based Healthcare Day is: "to educate a broad audience about the need for better evidence to inform health policy and practice and encourage debate and discussion amongst the global evidence community." In the context of COVID-19 and its challenges, the theme this year is The Role of Evidence in an Infodemic.

UNCOVER's focus on providing public health evidence that is both rigorous and timely, that addresses the questions that decision-makers are grappling with in practice or that directly affect the communities we live in, goes right to the heart of this theme. The conference will allow us to draw together what we've learnt about COVID-19 and its consequences, but also to reflect on the practical challenges that come with doing evidence synthesis at the heart of a global crisis, and finding ways of working that blend academic rigour and integrity with real-world immediacy and usefulness.
