Andrea Ford is a medical and cultural anthropologist whose work lies at the intersection of reproductive and environmental justice.  Andrea has conducted research on childbearing, periods, endometriosis, hormones, toxicity, and ‘FemTech.’

More broadly, Andrea investigates how ideas about gender, bodies, nature, and technology shape the culture surrounding medicine and reproduction. Tracing epistemology (how knowledge works), political economy (how power/money work), and social justice (what a better society would look like) shape how Andrea does this. Currently, Andrea works on bridging academic and non-academic spaces for research, ideas, and cultural change.
