Developing palliative care in the community in Japan

Primary care plays a central role in community health, and has potential to provide early and integrated palliative care for people with all diagnoses in the community.

Primary care plays a central role in community health, and has potential to provide early and integrated palliative care for people with all diagnoses in the community. This research will describe the current extent that primary care and family physicians provide palliative care in the community to individual patients according to need.

The potential role of the GP to also take a public health role will also be explored.
