AnaesthesiaThe principal research interests of the department are respiratory studies in anaesthesia, studies of postoperative analgesia, cognitive and neurological decline associated with cardiac surgery, clinical studies of new anaesthetic agents and associated drugs epidemiology of anaesthesia. From time to time research fellowships become available within the department and these are usually advertised in the medical journals. As a rule these posts are limited to doctors who are eligible to be registered with the General Medical Council.
