Background

Krista qualified as a nurse from Glasgow Caledonian university in 2011.   Her first position was within Cardiothoracic Surgery at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, for the most part working in their Intensive Care Unit.

From there she moved to Intensive Care at Guys and St Thomas' hospitals in London in 2015 and gained experience of severe respiratory failure patients.  Krista spent some time working at King's College Hospital in South London as Practice Facilitator and then as Team Leader in a busy multispecialty intensive care, which she loved.  During her time in London, Krista worked for a private company advising large trusts on their tissue viability provision.  This role included large scale audits, teaching and KPI reporting.  She gained her Intensive Care nursing qualification from Kings College University and spent her final few years in London working as a Practice Development Nurse at Homerton Healthcare, where she was responsible for building teams through education and developing and running courses for the Trust.

Krista moved back to Scotland in 2025 and started with the ECCRG in January 2026.
