South East Scotland ICU Group Meeting 9th November 2018 South East Scotland ICU Group presents a 1 day meeting: Solving people challenges in an acute care setting It is a common belief among junior doctors that finishing specialist exams and achieving a consultant position is the rewarding end of training. And yet all those years of study prioritise clinical excellence, with limited focus on people management skills - critical to being an effective consultant. How well do you understand your own leadership style, and the impact this has on your colleagues, juniors and the wider team? How do you deal with your people frustrations to build collaborative behaviours that support patient care? Do you want to know how to lead inclusively and be part of a speciality that engages the next generation but dread diversity training? Are you fed up with the generic buzz around burnout but keen to explore your personal triggers and survival strategies?
