This is a four year fully funded fellowship at consultant level which will enable her to address the problems of heterogeneity in critical care trial design. Image Dr Annemarie Docherty She will use routine national healthcare data in Scotland and England to identify and characterise critically ill patients with co-existing cardiovascular disease. Using machine learning techniques, she will explore different healthcare phenotypes, and identify groups of patients who may benefit from an intervention to improve myocardial oxygen-supply demand imbalance. She will study adaptive trial design methodology, looking at the use of continuous "vital signs" monitoring as an intermediate outcome. Publication date 16 Aug, 2019
