Please join us for the Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine Research Update Meeting on 25th November 2015 at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. These meetings are a fantastic chance to hear what local researchers young and old are up to. If you are involved in research, would like to be, or are just interested in what's going on, please come along and get involved. If you are an anaesthetic trainee, David Griffith can provide evidence of your attendance for portfolios provided you sign in on the night. Speakers We have 2 exciting speakers this time round. Our first is Dr Zoeb Jiwaji, an anaesthetic trainee who has recently embarked on an ECAT programme. He is talking on his PhD project 'Astrocytes and Neuroprotection: What influences the glial response during CNS injury’. Our second is Dr Deepankar Datta who will be speaking on the 'dentification and prognostication of septic patients presenting to the emergency department'. After the meeting It has become customary to head to a local curry house after the talks to continue the discussions over good food and beer and David will book this when he has an idea about numbers. We meet at 6pm in the postgraduate centre with curry at 8pm. Please let David know if you can attend and if you wish to come for curry. Dr David Griffith Also feel free to forward this to any colleagues you think would wish to attend this or future meetings, and also let David know if you wish him to add anyone to the mailing list.
