The deadline for submitting your application was Monday 12th January 2026.

Application forms are being reviewed, if you have not heard from us by the end of February, it is likely your application will not progress any further and official communications will be sent via EUCLID at the end of April.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • You must complete the Recruitment Form above and upload it to the Research Proposal section of your application. APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED WITHOUT THE RECRUITMENT FORM
  • Applications for all projects must be submitted via the University of Edinburgh's Degree Finder. Please only submit ONE application.
  • CV is required and you should upload this to the document upload section of your application.
  • You are not required to submit a Research Proposal.
  • Applicants must apply to a specific project. Please ensure that you include details of the project(s) that you are applying for on the Recruitment Form.
  • You can apply for a maximum of 3 projects, which need to be listed on the recruitment form.  Please also list the Principal Supervisor for each project you are applying for on your EUCLID application.

ELIGIBILITY & STUDY OPTIONS

Qualifications criteria

Applicants applying for a MRC DTP in Precision Medicine studentship must have obtained, or be about to obtain, a first or upper second class UK honours degree or the equivalent qualifications gained outside the UK, in an appropriate area of science or technology.

Funding

All successful candidates (Home or International) will receive a fully funded studentship covering full tuition fees, stipend, an annual Research Training Support Grant of £5,000 and an annual Travel Grant of £300.

Part-time study

It may be possible to study part-time, however this will depend on the individual project. You should check with the project supervisor if you wish to study part-time. International students are not usually eligible for part-time study, you should check your specific visa conditions.

Remote study

Remote study is not an option. This is an on-campus programme and you are required to live within commuting distance of your lead institution.
