ECTU offers various levels of support according to the project and the needs of the research team.  Please contact ECTU as soon as possible when developing your clinical research study.

• Methodology; design and powering of clinical studies, and statistical analysis and reporting
• Trial planning and delivery; adopted trials (using the UKCRC registration) are supported by a team of trial managers, data managers and programmers.
• Data management; ECTU provides a data management service (using bespoke or ‘off the shelf’ database solutions) to support smaller scale studies.
• Advice; With an experienced team of clinical research professionals, ECTU is able to offer advice to researchers and trial teams and aims to share best practice throughout Lothian.

ECTU studies are funded and sponsored by Government, charity, the EU and industry partners.

ECTU sits within the Edinburgh Medical School: Molecular, Genetic & Population Health Sciences, and forms part of the Usher Institute.  ECTU has a steering committee which comprises representatives from the major stakeholder (University research staff, University management, NHS Lothian) and an external advisory group.
