The Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit (ECTU) provides an infrastructure to design, plan and deliver clinical research studies across a varied portfolio of clinical specialties and methodologies. ECTU offers various levels of support according to the project and the needs of the research team. Please contact ECTU as soon as possible when developing your clinical research study.Methodology; design and powering of clinical studies, and statistical analysis and reportingTrial planning and delivery; adopted trials (using the UKCRC registration) are supported by a team of trial managers, data managers and programmers.Data management; ECTU provides a data management service (using bespoke or ‘off the shelf’ database solutions) to support smaller scale studies.Advice; With an experienced team of clinical research professionals, ECTU is able to offer advice to researchers and trial teams and aims to share best practice throughout Lothian.ECTU studies are funded and sponsored by Government, charity, the EU and industry partners.
