The Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit (ECTU) is able to offer support at all stages of the development and progress of a clinical trial from trial planning to trial delivery and reporting. Support is also available for other research designs. To do this, ECTU is staffed with an experienced team comprising methodologists, trialists, data managers and programmers. ECTU works with clinical academic staff throughout Edinburgh who have experience in running multi centre studies. Where possible we will offer to partner early stage trialists with a mentor from this group. All ECTU studies are conducted in accordance with ICH GCP. Governance The Academic and Clinical Central Office for Research and Development (ACCORD) is a joint office comprising clinical research management staff from NHS Lothian and the University of Edinburgh. Trial Management Clinical trials and research projects, regardless of their size and complexity, can benefit from efficient trial management. Statistical and Health Economics Support ECTU has a team of medical statisticians, clinicians, health economists and IT specialists who can advise on the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of studies. Data Management ECTU has an experienced team who provide a range of data management services and enable the creation of systems that provide a successful infrastructure for research projects.
