The main aim of this study is to establish if giving regular, low dose morphine capsules twice a day are better than placebo (dummy) for chronic breathlessness and whether morphine improves daily activity. A parallel group, double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled trial comparing the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of low dose oral modified release morphine versus placebo on patient-reported worst breathlessness in people with chronic breathlessness.
