This project aims to develop a database of SLE patients across Scotland in order to collect data including demographics, medical histories, treatments and outcomes on this patient group. It is envisaged that a better understanding of this condition will develop as a result of increased collaboration between the clinical sites. The ongoing auditing of the treatment and management of patients with Lupus should lead onto meaningful clinical and basic scientific research. In addition, this project intends to develop a registry of ‘research ready’ SLE patients who have given prior informed consent, in clinic, to be approached for future research projects from both the commercial and non-commercial sectors.
