Early support in primary care for people starting treatment for cancer Palliative care is usually given towards the end of life but we know many people could be helped earlier. The GI-ACP study will evaluate the feasibility of a randomised controlled trial of the provision of early palliative care, including anticipatory care planning, that is coordinated in primary care and is systematically triggered when patients with poor prognosis cancers start palliative oncology treatment.
