Use of a pre-loaded insertion device for immediate postpartum intrauterine contraception provision: a feasibility randomised controlled trial This study will investigate a new plastic ‘straw’ device designed to insert an intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) immediately after normal childbirth. This inserter might make the procedure simpler to perform and more comfortable for women than the current standard method (a forceps, e.g. pair of metal ‘tongs’).
