Centre Member Elected Chair of ERS m-Health/e-Health Group

Congratulations go to Dr Chi Yan Hui (Io) who has been elected as Chair of the European Respiratory Society’s (ERS) m-Health/e-Health Group. Io’s mandate starts in September 2024 and will run for three years.

ERS Assemblies and Groups

The ERS has 14 Assemblies, each of which have several Groups, which bring together people with similar interests.  The Assemblies and Groups underpin all ERS scientific and educational activities. Members of ERS choose their Assembly and Group affiliation based on their specialist area of interest and represented by an elected Chair and Secretary.

Io has been elected as Chair of the M-Health/e-Health group within the ERS Assembly 1: Respiratory clinical care and physiology. The members of this Assembly are interested in addressing relevant clinical problems and translating the latest research into daily practice.

M-Health/e-Health Group Chair Role

The group Io will be chairing was launched in 2019 to bring together healthcare professionals with an interest in implementing digital health technologies in respiratory medicine. Its main interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, deep learning, virtual, augmented and mixed realities, mobile health, open platforms, clinical information systems, telemonitoring, teleassistance and telerehabilitation.

One of the main objectives of this new role for Io will be to promote the activities of clinicians and researchers with an interest in m-health/e-health.

Delighted to be elected as the Chair of the ERS m-health/e-health group. Digital technology can unlock the power of data to deliver care to patients, but it is not a panacea to all the healthcare challenges. We will support our members to develop evidence-based, patient-centric, and inclusive digital respiratory technology in routine practice.
