Reflecting on our work, while guided by our Theory of Change approach (see below), the Centre has produced a 10-year Impact Report. Our key impacts Brought in over £83 million of funding into asthma research Made asthma research a priority, with over 750 scientific publications Pushed the boundaries of patient and public involvement with more than 100 engaged members in our patient and public involvement group Trained the next generation of asthma researchers, supporting over 50 doctoral students and research fellows Established a unique collaborative research environment of over 22 academic, NHS and other collaborating institutions from across the UK Continuing to transform respiratory research culture Read our Impact Report Document Asthma UK Centre for Applied Research - Impact Report 2014-2024 (5.49 MB / PDF) Read our 4-page Impact Summary Document Asthma UK Centre for Applied Research - Impact Summary 2014 - 2024 (362.65 KB / PDF) Image Theory of Change approach The Theory of Change approach is a methodology which links what we do (Our inputs) to our intended outcomes. It enables us to define our long-term goals and then maps our key actions to achieve those goals. In the process of achieving the Centre’s goals, we hope to create wider social, clinical, and personal impacts. Our graphic outlines the five strands of work where the Centre is focussing its actions towards impact: Core Infrastructure, Postgraduate Training, Patient and Public Involvement, High Quality Research, and Systems for Engagement. These five pillars produce outputs which create outcomes and impact from the Centre.
