Cardiac CARE is a randomised open-label label clinical trial for breast cancer and non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients receiving anthracycline adjuvant therapy. This study tests whether tablet medications called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB) and B-blockers can prevent heart muscle injury related to chemotherapy in breast cancer and lymphoma patients. We will also show whether a convenient blood test (troponin I) can detect those patients at risk of heart failure. About the Trial Cardiac CARE is a non-commercial trial sponsored by a partnership of the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian called ACCORD and funded by UK National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
