Andrew is EPIC's Project Co-Lead and is also a Senior Clinical Research Fellow. I am a medical doctor who specialises in Psychiatry of Intellectual Disability, and the Director of Clinical Research at the University of Edinburgh’s Patrick Wild Centre. Research at the Patrick Wild Centre focuses on better understanding genetic conditions affecting brain development, and improving the care and treatment available for people with these conditions, by bringing together fundamental neuroscientists and clinicians working in this field.My own research focuses on understanding mental health and behaviour in genetic neurodevelopmental conditions, developing better ways to translate findings from the laboratory to the clinic, and conducting clinical trials to strengthen the evidence base for existing interventions as well as testing new therapies for genetic neurodevelopmental disorders The great thing about the EPIC project is that it brings together engineers, clinicians and families to work out how best to apply extremely complex science in ways that make a meaningful difference to real-world outcomes for patients.
