Jay is EPIC's Clinical Co-Lead and Consultant Paediatric Neurologist. I am a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist and a clinical researcher based at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh, clinical Co-Lead for the EPIC project. With over 25 years of experience in child health, I have witnessed significant advances in medicine; however, I remain concerned that research in child health has not progressed at the same pace in several key areas.Throughout my career, I have closely observed the challenges faced by children with neurological conditions and the profound impact on their families. This has driven my commitment to improving clinical outcomes and my research focuses on translating innovation into practice, ranging from clinical trials to data-driven approaches aimed at directly enhancing patient care. EPIC is a highly collaborative initiative that brings together parents, researchers, scientists, and clinicians, all united by a shared goal of improving epilepsy diagnosis within the community. I am delighted to contribute to this important work and am optimistic that our innovations will make a meaningful difference to infants and their families worldwide.
