Harish received the Hind Rattan Award (translated to English as the “Jewel of India” Award) for his contributions to global health, presented at the 39th Convention of Non-Resident Indians on the eve of India’s 71st Republic Day.

The award is the highest given to non-resident persons of Indian origin by the NRI Welfare Society of India to celebrate their outstanding contributions to society at an international level. It was presented this year by Mrs Meira Kumar, former Speaker of the Indian Parliament in the presence of foreign ambassadors and high-level Indian dignitaries.

In 2019, Harish was awarded the University of Edinburgh Principal's Medal for Exceptional Service, alongside Professors Harry Campbell and Igor Rudan.

Our warmest congratulations to Harish.
