Investing in asthma care through evidence-based interventions is an important health strategy for reducing associated morbidity and mortality. This programme of work, known as the Asthma: Revitalising Asthma Care and Treatment (RESPIRE-ReACT) programme builds on work completed in the first phase of RESPIRE, which involved systematic reviews, qualitative studies, intervention development and feasibility testing. Following on from work completed during the first phase of RESPIRE, this project will use a Randomised Controlled Trial to test the effectiveness and uptake of our Pictorial Asthma Action Plan (PAAP) in adults with asthma. Aim and Impact This project will assess the impact and uptake of PAAP within adults undertaking asthma self-management education. The RESPIRE-ReACT programme will inform the delivery of asthma care in primary care settings, and implement innovative school-based interventions. Partnership with stakeholders will ensure evidence is directly relevant to local policymakers.
