Leads: Nik Sherina Hanafi, Universiti Malaya and Hilary Pinnock, University of Edinburgh About Programme 2: Non-Communicable Diseases This programme of work focusses on non-communicable conditions which develop and worsen over time, including diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD) and lung cancer. RESPIRE projects in this area focus on four main objectives To identify and assess the burden of Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) in the four Partner countries. To develop and evaluate interventions to improve the management of COPD (and other CRD). To map the seasonal and geographic allergen load and impact of triggers for asthma. To develop tailored approaches to providing supported self-management for asthma.
