Investing in asthma care through evidence-based interventions is an important health strategy for reducing associated morbidity and mortality. This programme of work, known as the Asthma: Revitalising Asthma Care and Treatment (RESPIRE-ReACT) programme builds on work completed in the first phase of RESPIRE, which involved systematic reviews, qualitative studies, intervention development and feasibility testing. Aim and Impact This study is a cluster Randomised Controlled Trial using a mixed-methods approach to evaluate the implementation of the school-based intervention in primary schools in Klang, Malaysia. The RESPIRE-ReACT programme will inform the delivery of asthma care in primary care settings, and implement innovative school-based interventions. Partnership with stakeholders will ensure evidence is directly relevant to local policymakers.
