Students Ask: COVID-19: Where are we now and what happens next? The COVID-19 pandemic has affected almost all aspects of life for much of the world's population. The University of Edinburgh staff and students have made substantial contribution to helping address it in the UK and globally. Panellists will discuss and answer key questions from students on the pandemic. The webinar is open to all students, staff, prospective students and the wider University community. The Panellists Devi Sridhar is Professor of Global Public Health. She chairs the Royal Society DELVE (Data Evaluation and Learning for Viral Epidemics) Committee, sits on the Scottish Government COVID-19 advisory board and is working with Director General of WHO to support WHO response to COVID-19 on policy and governance issues. She has featured in almost every UK broadcast, print and online media outlet in the last few weeks, as well as in the international press. Linda Bauld is Professor of Public Health. Her research focuses on the evaluation of complex public health interventions; and the use of evidence to inform health policy. She has studied drug and alcohol use, inequalities in health, overweight and obesity and, most notably, smoking cessation and tobacco control. She has been very prominent in the media in recent weeks, commenting and advising on the COVID-19 response. She is the driving force behind our Usher Institute COVID-19 webinar series, seeking insights from leaders around the world. Jonathan Seckl is the Moncrieff Arnott Professor of Molecular Medicine and Senior Vice-Principal of The University of Edinburgh. He is a clinical academic, working in the field of cardiovascular sciences.
