Details of our current and planned Intercalated Honours Programmes. We offer a BMedSci (Epidemiology) intercalated Honours programme that can be taken by medical students in year 3. We are currently developing further intercalated programmes in the social, ethical and legal aspects of medicine; and in family medicine.BMedSci (Epidemiology) Programme HTML ObjectivesTo gain an in-depth knowledge of the principles of epidemiology, including study design and analysis.To understand the statistical concepts inherent in epidemiological research.To develop skills in critical appraisal of published research, presentation of original findings, writing scientific papers, computing and data management.To apply this theoretical knowledge in the conduct of an original epidemiological project.Programme structureStudent learning is achieved byundertaking three compulsory taught courses in epidemiology and statistics (on the Master of Public Health programme) and a choice of three elective taught coursesproducing a substantial research dissertation (consisting of a critical literature review and an original epidemiological project).
