Acute Care Edinburgh - Managing transient and minor neurological attacks Speaker: William Whiteley, Scottish Senior Clinical Fellow and Consultant Neurologist, University of Edinburgh ‘Managing transient and minor neurological attacks’ Transient and minor neurological attacks present commonly to primary care, emergency departments and TIA clinics. Precise diagnosis is difficult, and the best strategy to prevent stroke or other neurological illness for these patients is uncertain. William Whiteley is a Scottish Senior Clinical Fellow (funded by CSO) in the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences, University of Edinburgh, a senior research fellow at the University of Oxford and a consultant neurologist in NHS Lothian. He has founded and run the Edinburgh Stroke Winter School. His work has been supported by personal fellowships from the UK MRC (Clinician Scientist fellowship 2010-2015), the Chief Scientist’s Office (2006-2009, 2018-2025), the Stroke Association, and the Alzheimer’s Society.
