Health economics in global decision making around vaccine investment

Professor Mark Jit, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine

Abstract

Health economic evaluations play an increasingly important role to inform decision making around vaccine investment, both at the national level and by global decision makers such as WHO, Gavi and BMGF. This talk briefly outlines the history of such evaluations, some of their uses and limitations, as well as key areas of future development where the field can grow to support global health needs.
