RESPIRE is delighted to have offered five new postgraduate Fellowships, based across our four partner countries. Building capacity in respiratory health research, the Fellowships will support individuals with the potential and on a trajectory to become future leaders in related research. They are intended to support people at various points of their development to become leading researchers, from initial pre-doctoral training to senior post-doctoral research. Find out more about the Fellows and their projects below: Su May Liew Based at the University of Malaya, Malaysia, Su May Liew’s project is developing Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in research in Malaysia. Dhiraj Agarwal Dhiraj’s project will examine the practices and perceptions of public and private general medical practitioners (primary care physicians) in rural India for diagnosis and management of asthma and COPD. He will be based at KEM Hospital Research Centre in India. Md. Nazim Uzzaman Based at icddr,b, Bangladesh, Md. Nazim Uzzaman is conducting a feasibility study into blended learning for primary care physicians on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Nomana Zeeshan Nomana will undertake a pedagogical research study on the use of an online learning platform by final year medical students on under five pneumonia, based at MNCHRN in Pakistan. Muhammad Jahangir Kabir A pilot study, as part of an MPH, Muhammad Jahangir Kabir will be assessing inhaler techniques among general practitioners. He will be based at BPCRS, Bangladesh.
