Victor Dzau, President of the National Academy of Medicine in the US, delivered an excellent lecture on Monday 25 November 2019. Showcase The afternoon began with a showcase of work in medical informatics from across the Usher Institute. A poster display complemented a series of short presentations - snapshots across the breadth of work in health data science in the Usher Institute, ranging from innovative self-management apps to training the future generation of digital leaders in the NHS. A lively and thought-provoking panel discussion followed, chaired by the Head of the Centre for Medical Informatics, Professor Ewen Harrison. Victor kindly took a wide range of questions, and Professor Moira Whyte, Head of the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, offered a vote of thanks. Future connections Director of the Usher Institute, Professor Aziz Sheikh, shared hopes for future collaborations and closer working with Victor Dzau, as an inspirational leader in health and care.
