MPH student successes - and farewell to Stuart Mallen

Congratulations to students on the Master of Public Health on campus programme, and farewell to Stuart Mallen.

Exam Board update

The Master of Public Health (On Campus) programme exam board was held on Tuesday 11 June. Thanks to Professor Harry Campbell for chairing the exam board, to the external examiners, and to all who attended and contributed to the board.

We are delighted that 57 students are progressing to their dissertation (due to be submitted on Thursday 22 August) and two students will be graduating with a Postgraduate Diploma.

BMedSci Epidemiology successes

Undergraduate medical students who opt to take an intercollated honours year (BMedSci) in Edpidemiology take courses from the Master of Public Health programme. Congratulations to both Ed Whittaker and Yawen Xiang  - who achieved Honours in the BMedSci programme. They continue on to their 4th year studies in undergraduate medicine.

Farewell to Stuart

After 6 years as MPH (on campus) Administrator, Stuart Mallen is leaving the Usher Institute.  His final day is Friday 28 June.  He will be starting as Year 2 Coordinator within the Medical Teaching Organisation after a well earned holiday! Stuart has consistently received nominations each year from students in the EUSA Teaching Awards for the category of 'best support staff'. We wish him all the very best in his new role.

If you think you could follow him in the post, please take a look at the vacancy listing - closing on 11 July.

The new MPH On Campus Programme Administrator will join Niall Anderson and Margaret Douglas (MPH On Campus Programme Co-Directors) and Sarah McCallum (MPH On Campus Operations Coordinator) to support the successful MPH programme in the Usher Institute.
