Dedicated teams and committed staff drive our success. Image Explore our profile pages to discover more about the incredible individuals contributing to Usher's mission across all our centres: Population Health Sciences, Medical Informatics, Global Health, Biomedicine, Self and Society, and the Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit. Each centre plays a crucial role in advancing research, education, and healthcare innovation. In June, we held our biennial Away Day at the Murrayfield Stadium, where we all came together to network and grow our shared understanding of the Institute’s vision, purpose and values. There were a number of varied breakout sessions, covering such topics as patient and public engagement and involvement, understanding DataLoch, grant applications, stakeholder engagement, sustainability, teaching, Usher building, creating research infographics. There was even a very popular fun room with board games and physical activities. Ending the day with a quiz before evening dinner, the day proved to be an extremely fruitful forum for networking with colleagues well-known and new to us all. I think we are all very much looking forward to the next one! Image We also observed the Postdoc Appreciation Week in September, a celebration that highlighted the invaluable contributions of our Postdoctoral researchers. The BioQuarter Postdoc Society committee organised an engaging poster symposium, showcasing the innovative work and diverse research projects undertaken by our talented postdocs. This year has also marked significant changes in senior management roles, reflecting our commitment to growth and excellence. As we unwrap the rest of the calendar, stay tuned for exciting 2023 staff recognition and award news.
