Professor Julie Jacko appointed College Dean of Innovation and Engagement

Congratulations to Professor Julie Jacko on her appointment as the Dean of Innovation and Engagement at the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine (CMVM)

In this role, which Julie accepts in addition to her Interim Directorship of the Usher Institute, she will lead the College’s development and strategy for innovation, engagement, and related partnerships across the breadth of College interests increasing the College’s potential to deliver a positive impact locally, nationally, and internationally. 

I am honoured to have been entrusted to lead innovation and engagement for the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at this pivotal time in the College’s nearly 300-year history of groundbreaking contributions to human and animal health.

New Dean roles in CMVM

Julie’s new role is one of six new Dean positions across CMVM, covering areas as broad as Education; Students and Alumni; Research; Equity, Inclusion and Community; and Clinical Medicine.  

The appointment of these new Deans is one of the first steps in a programme of modernisation of the College, which aims to enhance delivery of its academic mission, strengthen leadership and accountability, simplify structures and ways of working, improve strategic forecasting and planning, and better partnerships across the College and University.
