Professor Andrew Morris elected as Academy of Medical Sciences President

Professor Andrew Morris, who was elected to the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2009, is recognised internationally as a leader in the field of informatics and non-communicable diseases. He has published more than 350 original papers and attracted more than £200 million in grant funding.

Data leadership

Andrew was Director of the Usher Institute from 2015-2017. Since 2017, he has been the inaugural Director of Health Data Research UK (HDR UK). Under his leadership, HDR UK has worked in partnership with the NHS, industry, charities and universities to realise the potential of the UK’s wealth of health data in life-changing research.
