Latest members of the Scottish Science Advisory Council announced for 2025. We are delighted to announce that Julie Jacko – Professor of Health Informatics and Data Science, Interim Director of the Usher Institute, and the Dean of Innovation and Engagement in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine – has been appointed as a member of the Scottish Science Advisory Council (SSAC).The SSAC is Scotland’s highest-level science advisory body, providing independent advice and recommendations on science strategy, policy and priorities to the Scottish Government. The Council plays a vital role in ensuring that policy decisions are informed by the latest scientific evidence and expertise.Julie joins Professor Martyn Pickersgill, also a member of the SSAC, and Professor Linda Bauld, who serves as an ex-officio member.
