Winners for this year's College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine Staff Recognition Awards were announced on 06 May 2026. The celebration was hosted by David Argyle, Vice Principal and Head of the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and William Dick Chair of Veterinary Clinical Studies, at the Edinburgh Futures Institute. We congratulate all colleagues across the College, but would like to make special mention of our immediate colleagues Sarah Wild and Luke Daines based in the Usher Institute.Outstanding Colleague Award winner | Sarah Wild, Professor of EpidemiologyThis award is given to an individual who inspires and encourages the people they work with. It recognises those who contribute to team performance by providing advice and support and helping others overcome obstacles to accomplish success. The winner is a dependable team player who shows integrity, empathy and respect for others, and who builds and maintains great working relationships. Inclusion Award runner-up | Luke Daines, Senior Clinical Research FellowThis award celebrates those who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to inclusion. The award recognises those who foster a sense of belonging by creating a community where everyone feels valued and respected. Many congratulations to everyone who was nominated, shortlisted and of course to all the winners.
